Mother Earth is our home and we all need to do our part to cut down on the abode’s communal carbon footprint. Sometimes upgrading the furnace or installing solar panels isn’t always an easy or immediate option. Here are a few green-friendly products that are inexpensive and can easily fit into your everyday life without requiring a huge budget or year to plan.

7 List1. Rechargeable Batteries. With rechargeable batteries, not only will you save money, but they also eliminate extra trips to the store. All you have to do is place the batteries in the dock, and 15 minutes later, you’re good to go!

7 List2. CFL Light Bulbs. CFL light bulbs come in a variety of different shapes and colors. They are slightly more expensive than regular light bulbs but they do last longer, exert less heat and save you money in the long run.

7 List3. Klean Kanteen. Using a canteen is an easy way to save money and waste on bottled water. Another benefit is that by purchasing less plastic water bottles, you make more room available in landfills.

7 List 4. Reusable Shopping Bags. The next time you go shopping avoid carrying around those flimsy brown plastic bags and bring your own durable, stylish, reusable bags. You can help eliminate the use of paper and plastic bags and possibly save yourself some money now that many stores are charging for every bag you use.

7 List5. Water Filters. Now that you’ve already invested in a Kleen Kanteen, all that is left is to fill ‘er up and enjoy. If you’re not a fan of tap water then invest in a PUR water filter. They are easy to attach, and filter water is as crisp and refreshing as bottled H2O.

7 List6. Green Cleaning Products. When you have to clean, why not clean green? Get Clean is committed to providing quality products that truly get your home sparkling while not adding additional toxins to your living space. The company also uses concentrates to eliminate waste on packaging.

7 List7. iTunes. With iTunes, it’s easy to find music, movies, shows, audio books, podcasts and games that you love while saving the earth and a few dollars too. Products on iTunes cost less than those in stores and, by purchasing online, you do your part to eliminate waste from excessive packaging. Apple is reducing toxins found in iPods and is continuously increasing the number of its products that can be properly disposed of and recycled. You can learn more about Apple’s progress here.

Informative and to the point. I didn’t know that iTunes carried movies, books, etc. Good job!
