GreenWith the 2008 North American Auto Show just behind us, everyone has gotten a taste of what the future holds for earth friendly vehicles. Among the popular concepts was the Chevy Volt. This car has GM’s E-Flex Propulsion System which allows it to run on electricity, biodiesel, gasoline, or E85.

It is also capable of getting 150 MPG, running 40 miles without using a single drop of gasoline (when fully charged), and can charge certain small electronic devices without plugging them in.

But this is by no means the only green car out there. If you happen to be in the the market for a new vehicle and are considering a more environmentally savvy approach, then the U.S Environmental Protection Agency website is a great resource. On the site you can search for cars based on model, year, size, and manufacturer. Specific search queries will provide a list of suggested cars that are scored on features such as MPG and air pollution.

Just daydreaming about your next purchase? The EPA website can still inform you on how energy efficient your vehicle is and offer tips on how to make the best of your daily commutes.
