Our clients work hard, but they play hard too — especially when it comes to helping communities in need. In September 2007, more than 100 volunteers from Michelin and Men’s Health magazine gathered to get a Detroit park back in shape with an afternoon cleanup session. The teams partnered with Recycle Detroit to breath some much needed life into Cass Park, located near Ledyard Street in downtown Detroit.
Volunteers spent the day picking up trash, gardening, and building fitness stations using Michelin tires to help beautify the area and create recreation spaces for park visitors to exercise. The Cass Park cleanup project was a successful community effort to care for the local environment and promote healthy living for residents.
Michelin was inspired to lend Detroit a helping hand after the city was rated one of the 10 least healthy metropolises for men in Men’s Health magazine’s 2007 Metrogrades rankings. Michelin is a dedicated community partner and continues to conserve land, use fewer natural resources, and create tires that reduce fuel use.
